DESCRIPTION:Format of the event: Online \nDate: Friday 1 July 2022 \nTime: 13:30 hrs BST \nThis talk summarises the e-textile research activities at the University of Southampton in the Centre for Flexible Electronics and E-Textiles (C-FLEET) and the Winchester School of Arts (WSA). C-FLEET research activities focus on electronics integration\, materials and device research whilst the WSA has a strong textile and design background.\n \n\nThe talk will provide an overview of research activities that tackle key e-textiles challenges such as manufacturing\, reliability\, supplying power and e-garment design. The webinar will give examples of the latest e-textile systems and technologies for a wide range of applications and demonstrate design principles for achieving inclusivity\, sustainability and usability.\n\nPlease click here for more information and registration.

SUMMARY:Corporate Member the E-Textiles Network Workshop on E-Textiles for Sports and Fitness Applications
DESCRIPTION:Venue: Jurys Inn\, East Midlands Airport\, UK \nDate: Thursday 14 July 2022 \nThe E-Textiles Network workshop “E-Textiles for Sports and Fitness Applications” will be held on the 14 July at the Jurys Inn East Midlands Airport.\n\n \nThe workshop will explore the role of wearable technology in elite sports and general consumer fitness applications and then identify opportunities for e-textile smart garment based wearables and the corresponding research challenges that need to be addressed.\n\n \nThe workshop will be run as a one-day event\, split into two halves with the morning session focusing on technology within sport and fitness and the afternoon focusing on how this technology can be implemented in e-textiles and the associated practical challenges. There will be a small number of talks from leading industrial and academic speakers to provide context and inform the workshop activities. A full agenda of the day will be available shortly.\n\n \nThe workshop is free to attend but spaces are limited and E-Textiles Network members will need to apply for a place by emailing info@e-textiles-network.com with a short paragraph stating why they would like to attend and what contribution they could make to the discussions.\n\n \nApplications to attend should be made by Friday 1st July though places will be given on a first come\, first served basis.\n\n \nPlease click here for more information.
