Discretionary Rates

Proof of circumstance and / or earnings must be provided to claim the discretionary rates.

Rates for 2020 & 2019:

  • Earning Related Discount 1 GB £47.00
  • Earning Related Discount 2 GB £68.00

Rates for 2021:

  • Full Subscription GB £128.00
  • Association rate (AATCC & HKITA) GB £90.00
  • Corporate Member Students  FREE
  • Other Students GB £10.00
  • Retired, Graduate* (graduated within last 24 months), Unwaged GB £75.00
  • Earning Related Discount Rate 1 GB £49.00
  • Earning Related Discount Rate 2 GB £70.00

Students: Students must be enrolled on a full or part time course. You can claim this rate if you have graduates within the past 12 months. Proof of student status is required. Please send a copy of your student status eg Student ID card to the Membership Department. This rate does not apply to PhD students.

Graduates: Graduates can claim this rate if you have graduated within the past 36 months. To claim the graduate rate please send a copy of your graduation certificate to the Membership Department.

Unwaged: Please provide confirmation of employment status.

Retired: Please provide confirmation of retirement status. There is no age restriction for this rate.

Association Membership: Members of the AATCC and HKITA can benefit from this rate. Please provide proof of membership status of your association.

ERD 1: Salary equivalent below GB £3500.00 per year

ERD 2: Salary equivalent between GB £3500.00 and £7000.00 per year

To claim ERD you must be a permanent resident in one of the following countries:

EUROPE: Bulgaria, Georgia, Poland, Romania

ASIA: Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam

SOUTH AMERICA: Peru, Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia, Guatemala

MIDDLE EAST: Iran, Syria

AFRICA: All African countries except Libya, Mauritius and Botswana

Individual Membership Renewal Structure Changes 2021

From July 2020, The Textile Institute moves towards having two anniversary dates for subscription renewals for Individual Members.  January 1st and July 1st. On receipt of the membership fee for 2020 members will be notified of allocation to either January or July renewal for the following year.

Please contact the membership department via email or telephone if you have a preference and/ or wish to change your allocated month once contacted.
