Student Bursary Awards for TIWC 2025
The Committee of Management of The Textile Institute Benevolent Society is offering financial support to assist a limited number of students to attend the 93rd Textile Institute World Conference 2025 (TIWC 2025), which is being hosted by Aquitex in Porto, Portugal from 7-10 October 2025.
Each bursary will cover the student conference delegate fee and one year’s student membership of The Textile Institute (if the recipient is not already a member). Further details of the Conference can be found on either The Textile Institute’s website:

Eligibility
The bursaries are open to full-time undergraduate or postgraduate students studying textile-related subjects (including clothing and footwear) in the UK. This may also apply to full-time PhD students and those on a part-time undergraduate or postgraduate course who are not working full-time and receive a salary below GB£14000 per annum (or equivalent). Preference will be given to students who are already members of The Textile Institute and/or who are presenting a paper at TIWC 2025.
How to enter
Applicants should submit a supporting statement in English (maximum 500 words) explaining how they would benefit from attending TIWC 2025.

Condition of the award
As a condition of accepting their awards, successful applicants are required to submit a short report after the Conference outlining the benefits they have gained from attending which will be published in the membership magazine and online.
Assessment
All entries will be assessed by a panel appointed by the Committee of Management and applicants will be notified of the outcome as soon as possible after the closing date.
