The Textile Institute is represented by local and national offices around the world. Sections are run by its members who provide a programme of local activities, factory visits, workshops, seminars and social events.

Section and Special Interest Group activities, groups and events are open to all members to take part in. The Council of the Institute accepts proposals from members to revitalise or set up new and relevant working groups.
The Textile Institute has members in all sectors of fibre-based industries worldwide. Special Interest Groups provide a focus for members in different sectors, and many of them organise conferences, study tours and other events in their subject area.

05.03.21The Society’s annual Design Competition, with total prize money of over £14,500, is unique in its breadth of coverage and attracts almost 1,000 entries from students throughout the UK.
The Textile Institute supports this competition and is pleased to offer a one year membership to all first place winners of the competition.
Entries must be made by Friday 5 March 2021.

31.01.21The Committee of Management of The Textile Institute Benevolent Committee is offering financial support of GBP £100.00 one off bursaries to assist 25 students worldwide. The criteria of the bursary is to assist in attending an online conference or seminar or to purchase essential course materials such as, books, equipment or fabric which support your textile education.
It is the Institutes contribution to help students in this difficult year and look forward to receiving applications.

15.03.21The Medals and Awards Committee is now seeking nominations from industry and academia for Medals and Awards 2021 in categories such as a demonstrable effect on sustainability policy and practice, assistance for a student to present a paper at an international conference, devotion to the furtherance of scientific knowledge of fibers, or distinguished service on a Section Committee.
The closing date for Medals and Awards 2021 nominations is 15 March 2021.
