The Parliamentary Lunch was hosted at The House Of Lords, London on 8 November 2019.
Every year the TI holds a lunch in the Cholmondeley Room at The House Of Lords, London, UK. The lunch is generously hosted by The Lord Haskel CompTI CText ATI. The lunch is the highlight of the annual TI calendar, welcoming Members and guests from all over the world. The day is filled with a drinks reception, three course meal, infamous chocolate truffles and speeches from The Lord Haskel, The World President of the TI and a VIP guest speaker, all with a stunning view of the Thames and across London.
The Textile Institute World Conference (TIWC) was held at the University of Leeds, Leeds on 23 – 26 July 2018.
TIWC is held at exciting and relevant locations around the globe and is in an important meeting point for the textile industry and members worldwide. The social events associated with the conference bring together the global community to enjoy the host country’s culture and hospitality.

The Introduction to Textiles Short Course was hosted digitally 14 – 16 March 2022.
The Textile Institute launched this short course in 2010 to celebrate the Centenary of the Institute. It is a three day intensive training short course, offered twice a year in March and in October.
It is organised for the benefit of all those who are engaged in the manufacture, research and development as well as the commercial aspects of textiles business. The course will cover the fibres, yarns and fabrics used in textile products for apparel, household and technical textiles applications as core modules. The third day will offer two specialist modules covering dyeing and finishing and fabric testing and analysis.
The courses are approved by The Textile Institute, a system of validation assessed by independent and impartial experts.
The course is formed of seven separate topics:
Fibres, Yarns, Weaving, Warp & Weft Knitting, Non-woven Fabrics, Dyeing & Finishing and Fabric Testing & Analysis.
The Textile Institute can also provide in-house bespoke workshops, courses and seminars.
The Textile Institute regularly runs a series of webinars exploring all topics from the textiles industries around the world providing up to date information to its members and industry alike. The webinars aim to provide industry relevant data as well as networking opportunities to all.
The Textile Institute was delighted to host its first Tea with the TI webinar of 2022, sponsored by Taylor and Francis. The Institute received wonderful feedback for the webinar, the programme and the talks were enjoyed by all who attended.
The TI’s Technical Textiles Special Interest Group (SIG) marked its relaunch by joining the TI for the inaugural event of the 2022 Tea with the TI webinar series.

The event aimed to ignite conversation and lead to the development of an inclusive, proactive Technical Textiles SIG.
The Tea with the Textile Institute webinar series will run throughout 2022.
