The Textile Institute is delighted to announce Baljinder “Bowie” Miles as the VIP speaker for this year’s Parliamentary Lunch, taking place on Friday 13 November 2026 at the House of Lords, London.

The Parliamentary Lunch is a highlight of The Textile Institute’s annual events calendar, bringing together professionals, academics and leaders from across the textiles, clothing and footwear industries for an afternoon of networking, conversation and inspiration.

Meet our VIP Speaker – Baljinder “Bowie” Miles

Bowie is a passionate textile professional, sustainability advocate and value chain connector with more than 25 years of experience across the global textile and apparel industry.

Her career has spanned design, textile manufacturing, innovation, product development, retail and sustainability strategy, giving her a broad understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the industry today.

Having held senior leadership positions within brands and now working as an independent consultant and textile expert, Bowie works across the value chain, bringing together brands, manufacturers, recyclers, policymakers and innovators to help turn ambition into practical action.

Known for her energy, authenticity and ability to connect people, Bowie believes that meaningful change happens through collaboration, education and shared purpose. She is passionate about supporting the transition towards a more responsible textile industry and inspiring others to build an industry that future generations can be proud of.
