Introduction to Textiles Short Course – Last Chance to Book
The Textile Institute’s Introduction to Textiles Short Course will take place from 22–24 September 2026 at The Midland Hotel, Manchester.
This three-day intensive course is designed for those working in, or looking to develop their knowledge of, the textile industry. It provides a broad introduction to the fibres, yarns and fabrics used across apparel, household and technical textile applications, together with specialist sessions covering dyeing and finishing, and fabric testing and analysis.
The course takes place twice a year, in March and September, and places are often booked well in advance. Both 2025 courses sold out, so early booking is recommended.

The course was launched by The Textile Institute in 2010 to celebrate the Institute’s Centenary. It is organised for the benefit of those involved in the manufacture, research and development, and commercial aspects of the textile industry.
