Awais Khatri

Engr. Dr. Awais Khatri is a seasoned textile professional with over 22 years of experience in textile manufacturing, academia, and research. He is currently Professor of Textile Engineering at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Pakistan, where he leads the Colour Research Lab. Apart from being CText FTI, he holds a Ph.D. in Textiles from RMIT University Australia, and a Diploma in Coloration and Licentiateship from the SDC UK.

His consultancy expertise spans sustainable textile processing including coloration and product development. He has led industry-academia R&D projects worth over PKR 40 million with leading textile firms including Archroma, Soorty, and WWF. His innovations include natural dyes, water-, energy- and chemical-efficient processes, and multifunctional finishes. Dr. Khatri specializes in practical problem-solving, process optimization and the development of eco-compliant solutions for coloration and finishing of cotton, blends and other textiles. He is also engaged in human resource development, providing training for supervisory and technical staff to implement best practices.

With a strong foundation in applied research and industrial collaboration, Dr. Khatri offers consultancy services that advance innovation, sustainability, and quality improvement across global textile enterprises.
