I have 40 years’ experience in work on development of natural lignocellulosic fibre mainly flax/linen and hemp processing, technologies and evaluation. My activity spans a wide range of scopes:

  • Processing of hemp/flax fibres including retting methods; diversification of spinning technologies depending on type of the fibres, long/short and their final application
  • Fibres/yarn structure, quality and properties
  • Natural pro-healthy textiles with positive influence on human physiology
  • Bast fibres application to reinforce composites, development of fibres reinforcement structure in accordance with intended use
  • Hemp and linen functional textiles functionalized by bio-active substances extracted from plants
  • Sustainability of processing, textile technologies and products covering three dimensions: environment, society and economy including circularity of textile technologies and products, zero waste strategy to reduce impact on environment and contribute to reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint
  • Strategic management of research institute and its scientific development
  • Leader of research teams and many international research projects
  • Member of Scientific Committee of The Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) within Horizon Europe
  • Member of Advisory Council of BIOEAST Board and Expert in Macro
