The Textile Institute

Robert Ervine CText FTI

I have extensive hands-on experience of designing, setting up and running modern, efficient, textile wet processing plants in the UK as well as S. Asia and Africa.

In addition I have undertaken many smaller projects for companies around the world to improve their quality, efficiency and productivity, by introducing effective process control and production planning and control methods, and retraining/motivating management and staff, plus where necessary, selecting and introducing new equipment and technology.

I have also assisted retailers and buyers in sourcing suitable product and resolving specific technical problems within their supply chain production.

Whilst I have excellent all round experience of most aspects of textile manufacture my specific areas of expertise are in continuous processing especially dyeing and printing.

Previously I held a variety of senior position within the UK textile industry, lastly being production director of a vertical household textile manufacturer, this entailed day to day responsibility for all manufacturing, including spinning, weaving, processing and stitching.
