Subashini Balakrishnan
My academic journey has been driven by research, particularly focusing on methods for extracting fibers from Sri Lankan banana cultivars to contribute to textile materials development. I possess expertise across various domains of textile technology, including textile processing, coloration, printing, garment washing and finishing, natural dyes, fiber science, yarn preparation, weaving technology, garment manufacture, ergonomics, apparel merchandising, environmental management, color psychology, textile education tools, and work study for the textile and clothing industry. I have pursued professional development through specialized courses in environmental management systems, research methodology, scientific writing, chemicals management, and green chemistry and innovative printing methods, such as CMYK and reactive paste, and expertise in hand screen preparation and multiple print styles on cotton fabric. My creative input is evident through my involvement in batik, tie-dye, and diverse printing techniques on cotton fabric. This combination of academic achievements, and practical knowledge defines my multidimensional expertise in textile and apparel.
