Medals and Awards 2020 – open for nominations

The Medals and Awards Committee is seeking nominations from industry and academia in a range of categories.

Do you know someone whose contribution to textiles should be recognised? We want to highlight those people or organisations that have made a difference in the textiles world or The Textile Institute itself, and celebrate them at the prestigious Awards Lunch in May 2020.

There are Medals and Awards available to both members of the Institute and non-members, in categories such as a demonstrable effect on sustainability policy and practice, assistance for a student to present a paper at an international conference, substantial contribution to design, or distinguished service to the TI.

Winners of these awards will be in good company – past recipients have included Jimmy Choo, Paul Smith, and Lord Haskel.

Take a look at the award criteria, and if you wish to nominate someone for an award, complete the Nomination Form and return it by Monday 2 March 2020. We advise anyone making a nomination to begin the process as soon as possible so that we can resolve any issues before the deadline. Please remember, nominations should be made without the nominee being aware.

Awards Sponsorship

There is an opportunity to sponsor the Awards Lunch and individual medals or awards. If you would like to discuss a sponsorship proposal, please contact Becca Williamson, Governance and Communications Co-ordinator, on bwilliamson@textileinst.org.uk.
