Call for Author Submissions of Interest – The Textile Institute and Bloomsbury

The Textile Institute and Bloomsbury Visual Arts are delighted to announce that they are in discussions to launch a new joint book series. The series is intended to be a world-leading collection of books in the fields of clothing design, fashion design and aesthetics and footwear design.

The series will include specialist research-based monographs, ‘text/reference’ titles providing detailed coverage of advanced topics and in-depth reviews of new and developing design-related topics in the areas of the author’s established expertise. The intention is for these books to be relevant to researchers, academics and postgraduate students. The books will generally fall under these topics but this is by no means an exhaustive list:

• Design aesthetics
• The influence of cultural and social attitudes and history on design
• Design retrospectives
• Anticipating change and forecasting
• Interpretation of design trends for specific audiences

The Textile Institute would like to invite potential authors to submit proposals.
The intention is that each book would be predominantly text based with approximately 80,000 words with 25-50 images, we encourage both monographs and edited collections.
