Barbour & Sons, Umbro International (part of Nike Inc at the time), Rockport Inc (part of adidas at the time), and Regatta Ltd. Elinor graduated with an MA in Fashion from St.Martin’s School of Art , BA Fashion Sandwich course from Preston Polytechnic and a PGCE from University of Greenwich .

Elinor was Head of Department for Fashion at Kingston School of Art since 2015, having joined the university in 2004 as the BA Course Director and has now progressed from Associate Professor to Honorary Professor at Kingston University.

The BA Fashion course at Kingston is an award – winning industry linked established course and the MA Fashion course she validated 10 years ago is emerging as a post graduate destination. Sponsors she secured and maintained included Brooks Brothers, Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy H&M, American Eagle, Urban Outfitters, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren ASOS and the first UK course to be sponsored by Zara Inditex who she introduced to Graduate Fashion Week .

Elinor has delivered talks in Hong Kong and Beijing and judged on international fashion show juries in Paris, Rome, Vigo and Hong Kong.Last year she was invited by Arts Foundation for Fashion to represent the UK on the international jury at the YSL museum in Marrakesh.

From 1972, Mr Croskell studied textiles at Coventry Technical College and in 1978 graduated in textile technology and science from Bradford University. He was awarded the Associateship of The Textile Institute and became a chartered textile technologist in 1980 and in 1997 was awarded the Fellowship of The Textile Institute. He began as laboratory chemist and colourist for Courtaulds Ltd; attached to the Teklan Plant, afterwards holding the post of Technical Officer for Courtaulds Ltd; Northern Spinning Division at their Central Technology Department in Oldham, Lancashire.

From 1981 he was employed by Perivale Gutermann Ltd as technical supervisor of production. In 1986 Robert joined SGS as principal technologist and has spent much time involved in the study of textiles subjects and the effects of detergents on textile structures. He has held various roles at SGS and in 2002 took over as senior consultant of textile services globally and amongst other duties, acted as general technical consultant for the Group worldwide.

He lectured at the London Institute for short courses and at degree level and also for the Licentiateship of the Textile Institute (LTI).

Robert has prepared reports for hundreds of actions and has given oral evidence as expert witness on more than 40 occasions.

Most recently, he has become qualified as a lead auditor for ISO 17025 laboratory technical audits and for health & safety at work and corporate responsibility. Additionally he audits production factories against retailers’ own audit schedules to ensure they meet with their customers’ high standards.

Prof Goswami BSc (Tech), MSc, PhD, MRSC, ASDC, C Col, FTI, CText, CMgr, MCMI, FHEA completed bachelor’s degree in textile technology and then worked within different industries, including a world-leading third-party textile testing and quality certification company. Subsequently, he did his MSc in Advanced Textile and Performance Clothing, and his PhD from the University of Leeds. Professor Goswami is the Director of Technical Textiles Research Centre and is the Head of Department of Fashion and Textiles at the University of Huddersfield. Prior to joining the University of Huddersfield, Professor Goswami was the Director of Research and Innovation at the School of Design, University of Leeds and he led the Fibre and Fabric Functionalisation Research Group.

Research Expertise and Interests

Professor Goswami’s domains of research are product development using flexible materials and application of chemistry for functionalising textiles. Professor Goswami manages a large profile of research concerned with fibre/polymer science, nonwovens, medical textiles (implantable materials and non-implantable materials), sustainable materials (fundamentally understand the properties of new material), application and development of nano/submicron fibres for novel applications, and plasma treatment for functionalising textiles and textile chemistry. He is a member of Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC), Education, Qualifications and Accreditation Board (EQAB), a trustee of SDC, and is a member of EDANA’s R&D working group. Professor Goswami is also the first academic to be appointed to the board of the UK Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT).

Dr Memon is a recipient of the National Natural Science Foundation of China for 2022 and the CSC Outstanding Award of 2020 by the Chinese Scholarship Council, China. He is also the recipient of the industry-academia cooperation project between ZSTU, Hangzhou, and Wuxi Paradise Textile mills, China. He was awarded the Excellent Social Award for three consecutive years during his doctoral studies by International Cultural Exchange School, Donghua University, China, and once Grand Prize of NZ Spring International Student Scholarship and third Prize of Outstanding Student Scholarship Award in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

He presented Sustainability aspects as keynote speaker at ICSTT-2021. He presented recyclable composites and won the Second Prize at Tianjin Polytechnic University, China. He received the Excellent Oral Presentation Award in 2018 at the 7th International Conference on Material Science and Engineering Technology held in Beijing, China, and Best Presentation and Best Research Paper at the Student Research Paper Conference 2012, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Pakistan.
